Congratulations Gerry & Sandra

Victoria Park Charter Meeting

Gerry Prewett and Sandra Morton have been working hard to set up a new club in Victoria Park.  On Monday night they were successful.

It was an excellent meeting followed by the formal business meeting to complete the charter requirements.  The Toastmaster Constitution was adopted, 7 Officers were elected and the Club’s Bylaws adopted.  Mark Richards and I took part in the meeting and assisted with the business session.

Gerry sent off the Charter Application the next day and now we await the formal registration notice from World Headquarters in the next few days.

Gerry will be President’s Distinguished W28 Area Governor

This will lift Gerry from Select Distinguished to President’s Distinguished Area Governor.  Congratulations Gerry.  He joins Robyn Richards from W16 – currently the only President’s Distinguished Area Governors in District 73.  Western Division is currently the only President’s Distinguished Division in the District.  You can view a full report of WA Division and Area Governor status.

Next year for Gerry and Sandra

They certainly wont be resting on their laurels.  Sandra will be the W28 Area Governor and Gerry the I41 Area Governor.  You can view a full report of our Division and Area Governors for 2010/11.   Sandra has plans to start a new club in Booragoon – with Gerry’s help of course. Gerry will continue in his role as the District Southern Cross editor. It will be a busy year for both.

    Well done Gerry & Sandra,

It was through careful preparation and tireless persistance that Vic Park has chartered in just a few meetings.
Gerry & Sandra met with David Nicholas (new clubs co-ordinator) and Mark Richards (LGM) and put together a strategy to form the club and followed it to a tee.
We have a no nonsense approach to starting new community clubs and with the recent success of Southern River and now Vic Park, this can be done by anyone with the desire and drive that Gerry & Sandra have shown.
Vic Park will be a great club with the help from mentors, Robyn Lloyd & Tim Blackburn and I am very happy to have been involved with their charter.

All the best Victoria Park Toastmasters.

    Mark Richards
