New Clubs Action

First Meeting for this year’s Committee

Our first meeting for 2009/10 was held yesterday, July 26, 2009.

It is clear that this is going to be a bumper year for new clubs in WA. A Demonstration Meeting has already been held. Another 5 are already planned for September and October, with another 3 definite prospects about to get under way.

You can read a full report of the meeting at New Clubs Committee July.

If you were one of the 16 people at the meeting, please add your comments below.

If you weren’t able to make it, please post reports of any projects you are undertaking or any additional ideas you have, so we can all benefit.

    David,

A good meeting for a new Area Govenor. I’m learning a lot by osmosis at the moment and look forward to setting up a new club in the future to add to the tally.

A lot of experienced players at the meetings offering much needed good advice.

    Chheers!

  2. Peter,

I’d support that view too. It almsot seems overwhelming at the moment BUT I know expert help is all around. So I’m going to pick up the ball and run with it.

Who is this guy Oz Mosis? Is he a terrorist?

  3. Hi all,

It is great to see that we have so many dedicated people, willing to support new clubs in WA. As with Peter, one of my motives as an Area Governor is to start a new club, but the key driver for me is that I am committed to establishing a club in the beautiful City of Rockingham.

The meeting ran to schedule, had some great input from all of the participants, and the great thing was, we were able to share information and ideas of the best way of starting a new club. Also the district officers were helpful; providing insight, and offering support for future events.

I can not wait to start the Rockingham Club. There are so many people willing to assist, and with the financial assistance of the District, I am certain that this will be a success. I envisage by November this year, we will make the vital community link between Fremantle and Mandurah.

Peter, Gerry and Michael, you are correct. There is a great deal of help available for committed people like yourselves who intend to start new Toastmaster clubs.

I am very pleased at the enthusiasm expressed at the meeting and the real work which is already being done. I was able to offer some help this afternoon to Judith when she asked for it, regarding technicalities in the Application to Organise the Mundaring Club. She has certainly set about the project with skill and determination.
