About Toastmasters WA
This is a site provided by Victoria Quay Toastmasters as a service primarily to Toastmasters in Western Australia, but also to any person who finds the material of value. The site is managed by the Victoria Quay webmaster, David Nicholas DTM. In 2006 David negotiated a sponsorship with PublicityShip which has transformed the site into District 73’s first blog site. It was probably the first Australian Toastmaster blog site, though there are sure to be more very soon.
If you are new to blogging and find it a bit confusing, look for links to blog posts towards the bottom of the lists on the right hand side. Click on any entry. That will take you to a list of blogs. Choose one of them. Read the entry, and then make a comment, or ask a question. Whenever there is a new comment, I get an email notification, and I will check it out, and if it is appropriate respond or answer your query. To look at comments on a particular post, go to the bottom of the post and click on the Comments link. This will display them all.
Convention 2007
Victoria Quay was the Host Club for the 2007 District 73 Convention held at the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle. ToastmastersWA was a major vehicle for publicising the Convention across the District and particularly in Western Australia.
Distinguished Club Program updates
For many years David has provided a service where he reformats the extensive updates provided by Toastmasters International into a simplified display of the WA only material. This began as a rather parochial effort to display the remarkable success of Victoria Quay in the Distinguished Club Program, but over time has been developed and extended to become a major source of information to our Division and Area Governors.
WA News
There are regular reports of Division events - particularly Club Officer Training and Speech Contests.
Information
There is a range of helpful information, including WA Club meeting times and places, the structure of Toastmasters here in WA, and much more.
Can you suggest further items which would be of value?
If you have suggestions, either email David directly, or, now that it is a blog site, publish your suggestion for other members to read on one of the many blog postings being developed. That way you can communicate directly with all the readers who visit the site. Your contributions may be of great value.
